Antioch is set to host a delegation from sister city Chichibu from 7/22-8/5
Antioch is preparing to host a 13-member delegation from its sister city, Chichibu, Japan, as part of an annual cultural exchange program. The visit spanning July 22nd through August 5th will include activities designed to strengthen the bond between the two communities and promote mutual understanding. This long-standing relationship highlights the value of international connections at the local level.

Antioch Mayor Joins Global Network of Leaders Aiming to Improve City Life

Mayor Bernal was selected for the 10th class of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative
Antioch Mayor Ron Bernal has been selected for the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, a nine-month program that trains mayors from around the world. He will join 45 other mayors from 15 countries to learn strategies for improving local government and addressing key community priorities. The program, run by Bloomberg Philanthropies in partnership with Harvard University, has served nearly 450 mayors since its launch.

John Muir Health celebrates 25 years of it’s Mobile Health Clinic serving Contra Costa County
John Muir Health is celebrating 25 years of its Mobile Health Clinic program, which provides free health care to underserved communities in Contra Costa County. Since starting in 2001, the program has served more than 13,000 patients and expanded to multiple locations, offering primary care, mental health services, and vaccinations. The milestone reflects the program's role in removing barriers like lack of insurance, transportation, and language access.

Contra Costa Residents Can Now File to Run for Local Office

Live in Contra Costa County? You can get on the ballot for the General Election on November 3rd
Candidate filing for the November 3, 2026 general election in Contra Costa County opens July 13 and runs through August 7. Interested residents can pick up nomination papers at the Contra Costa Elections Office in Martinez or their city clerk's office. The registrar's office encourages potential candidates to schedule an appointment for a quick 20-minute filing process.
