Rebuilding Lives: RESTORE's Fall Campaign Aims to Open More Doors for Families in Need
RESTORE, a faith-based nonprofit in Contra Costa, hopes to expand to five transitional homes for those in need. Three community events in the coming months will be hosted in effort to fundraise.
RESTORE, a faith-based nonprofit in Contra Costa County, has launched its fall fundraising campaign to support its expansion from four to five transitional homes. The organization aims to raise $150,000 by the end of the season to double the number of people it serves. Three community events in September, October, and November will feature testimonials from residents and staff.

Antioch Waterfront Volunteers Sought for Annual Coastal Cleanup
On September 19th, Antioch will participate in California’s annual Coastal Cleanup Day. They are looking for volunteers for this September event.
Antioch will take part in California's annual Coastal Cleanup Day on September 19, joining volunteers statewide to remove trash from shorelines and inland waterways. The event, held each third Saturday of September, helps prevent litter from reaching the ocean while gathering data on pollution trends. Residents can register through local groups or the statewide cleanup website.

State Funding Boosts East Bay Grazing Program, Protecting Ranchers and Wildlife
The East Bay Regional Park District is set to receive state funding in order to restore livestock ponds on grazed grasslands. This could greatly reduce wildfire risk.
The East Bay Regional Park District will receive $400,000 in state funding to restore livestock ponds on its grazed grasslands. The money, included in the September 1, 2026 budget, supports a grazing program that reduces wildfire risk across more than 87,000 acres. District officials say the funding will help close a gap left by federal cuts and support up to five pond restorations.
