Make a Difference: Join the Contra Costa Commission for Women and Girls
County residents and workers can join The Contra Costa Commission for Women and Girls, who are currently looking for applicants for seats.
The Contra Costa Commission for Women and Girls is recruiting for vacant At-Large and District IV seats, open to county residents and workers. The commission, established in 1984, advises the Board of Supervisors on women's issues and meets monthly. Applications are available through the Clerk of the Board or online.

Brentwood's Serendipity Cellars Hosts Lobster Feed, Songwriters, and Salsa Nights This Fall
Brentwood’s Serendipity Cellars will host a variety of events this upcoming fall season. Learn the details below!
Serendipity Cellars in Brentwood will host three fall events: a Lobster Feed on September 26, a country music storytelling night on October 3, and a Sunset, Sangria and Salsa evening on October 17. Each event offers a unique mix of food, entertainment, and wine, with tickets ranging from $35 to $1,150. All events are for ages 21 and over, and several are expected to sell out.

Brentwood and Orinda Educators Named 2026-27 Contra Costa County Teachers of the Year
Contra Costa County Teachers of the Year were announced for 2026-27, with a Brentwood and an Orinda teacher honored.
Rebecca St. Michel of Brentwood Elementary School and Stephanie Sado of the Orinda Union School District were named 2026-27 Contra Costa County Teachers of the Year at the 54th annual celebration on September 17. Both educators will advance to the California State Teachers of the Year competition. The event honored 22 educators from 17 school districts and other local institutions.
