"The community needed more wellness," she explains, "and the demand put a little bit of pressure, but it became a diamond." And woven throughout, there are the human connections that make it all worthwhile.

"Being able to greet my community, service my community, and send them about their days feeling so much better about where they stand in life, even if just in that present moment," she says, is what the work is really about. Recently, that small-town connection came full circle. A woman walked into the store, eyes bright, and told Sarah she'd been following the business on social media for two years, waiting for the right moment to visit during store hours. She spent 20 to 30 minutes browsing, talking, connecting. She left with a wellness product and an outfit that would make her feel confident, complete with earrings "that are gonna adorn her ears."

"Those types of small interactions to others may seem really small. To me, those are huge," Sarah reflects. "I knew that I had somebody that had been following my journey for two years and wanted to make sure that they came in during my office hours and store hours so that they could support me in another manner. That, to me, is everything."
