Nearly $190 Million Available for New Parks in Underserved Communities
Nearly $2 million in California grants are available to upgrade parks in underserved and climate-vulnerable communities.
California has opened applications for the fifth round of its Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program, offering about $188.5 million in grants for new and upgraded parks in underserved and climate-vulnerable communities. The deadline is December 17, 2026, and eligible groups include local governments and nonprofits. This funding, supported by the 2024 Climate Bond, is part of a broader effort to expand outdoor access across the state.

Local Nonprofits Join Forces to Raise Funds for Food, Shelter, and Medical Care
On Sept. 19th, St. Vincent de Paul and Loaves and Fishes, Contra Costa County nonprofits, will host a charity boccee ball tournament. Funds raised will be used for housing, food, and medical care for local families in need.
Two Contra Costa County nonprofits, St. Vincent de Paul and Loaves and Fishes, are teaming up to host a charity bocce ball tournament in Martinez on September 19, 2026. The event aims to raise funds for food, housing, and medical assistance for local families in need, with all proceeds going directly to safety-net services. Registration is open to all skill levels, and the day will include lunch, a silent auction, and community camaraderie.
