Veterans and Families Invited to Free Fishing Day and Resource Fair in Antioch

Stand Up on the Delta will be hosted in Antioch on September 11th. This event, hosted by The Delta Veterans Group, will be a free fishing event and information and resource fair.

The Delta Veterans Group will host "Stand Up on the Delta" in Antioch on September 11th, featuring an information and resource fair alongside a free fishing event. The gathering aims to provide support and recreational opportunities for veterans and the public. More information is available on the group's website and Facebook page.

California's Outstanding Edible Food Recovery Program for 2026 has gone to White Pony Express, a Contra Costa County nonprofit dedicated to delivering meals to those in need.

White Pony Express, a Contra Costa County nonprofit, has been named California's Outstanding Edible Food Recovery Program for 2026 by the California Resource Recovery Association. The organization, founded in 2013, has delivered over 32 million meals to local partners through a network of 2,000 volunteers, with recent years showing significant growth in distribution.
