Veterans and Families Invited to Free Fishing Day and Resource Fair in Antioch

The Delta Veterans Group will host "Stand Up on the Delta" in Antioch on September 11th, featuring an information and resource fair alongside a free fishing event. California's Outstanding Edible Food Recovery Program for 2026 has gone to White Pony Express, a Contra Costa County nonprofit dedicated to delivering meals to those in need.
White Pony Express, a Contra Costa County nonprofit, has been named California's Outstanding Edible Food Recovery Program for 2026 by the California Resource Recovery Association. The organization, founded in 2013, has delivered over 32 million meals to local partners through a network of 2,000 volunteers, with recent years showing significant growth in distribution.
